This book, replete with forty pages of cocktail recipes, is a pop history of the cocktail. While this slim volume is really more apropos for an, er, cocktail party conversation than the history shelf, we give the author big points for style. It's a great afternoon read in the shadow of your favorite tree. Martini in hand, of course.
