The Usual Suspects

We're the ones who spend sleepless nights laboring away publishing this site

History House is populated by a wandering tribe of peripatetic academics, some full-time and some part-time. Having started with Texas roots, we've even expanded internationally with an Australian contributor. Here's some brief bios.

Sebastian Good
Founder, President

Sebastian graduated in 1998 with History and Computer Science degrees from Rice University. He has been variously a dot-commer, a programmer, and a salesman.

Ian Quigley
Founder, Editor

Ian graduated from Rice University with degrees in English and Biology. Ian put in three years as an HIV researcher at The Baylor College of Medicine in the Med Center in Houston before becoming an itinerant historian and expert rock climber. He is getting his PhD in biology now at the University of Texas. Ask him about beer, climbing, or evolution sometime.

Victoria Strike
Writer

Victoria digs history and lives in Australia. She has worked as a copywriter and has written for magazines. For a while she turned her hand to print layout, but has worked with the Internet for the past few years. She's usually found with a book in one hand and a cocktail in the other.

Ben Drago
Writer

Ben fills out the History House liberal arts degree portfolio with a Bachelor's of Sociology. Busy supporting folks at SGI from day to day, he finds the time to write stories, keep our op-ed honest, and generally keep the place tidy. ben@historyhouse.com

David Rodriguez
Staff

Dave finished a Sociology degree at Rice in 1998. He came on board after casually asking what Ian and Sebastian were up to one evening. After a stint working for the Federal Reserve Bank and wearing a suit every day he decided to chuck it all and go back to school to become a doctor.
